I'd like a keg to stand on...

PartyStoreFilter: Best place to buy kegs (decent prices, good selection) in the northeast Los Angeles area?
I'm in charge of obtaining the brew for a party this weekend, and I think a keg or two is the way to go. I'd like to find a store in the Burbank/Glendale/Pasadena area that has a decent number of options (domestic and imports) and doesn't charge absurdly high prices.
I've had really bad luck with just driving around and stopping at corner liquor stores (either no kegs at all, or crappy beer for high prices), and calling random stores in the phone book hasn't yielded the best results either.
I miss the store we used to get our kegs from in college. *sniff*

Response by poster: Yay, thanks. Somehow I had never heard of BevMo. I'll raise a red cup to Ask Mefafilter this weekend.

I'll just chime in and say that the BevMo on Arroyo in South Pasadena is fantastic.

Fourthing BevMo, with the following advice: you can usually go day of and pick up any domestic (Bud, Coors, Miller), but if you want one of the fancier brews you'll want to order 3 days in advance.
It's usually worth getting the tub ($5 and you don't have to clean it?), but make sure it's not cracked (lame!). I never buy cups or ice from BevMo, but I always later wish that I had -- buying ice elsewhere can suck (especially since most places are stocking those tiny "party ice" bags nowadays, instead of the 20-40 lb bags that you will need). The extra 5-10 bucks you pay is probably worth it.
I'd advise tapping the keg before BevMo closes, because if you get a broken/bad tap at 10pm, you're going to be screwed.
Lastly, if people are going to be doing kegstands, make sure you've located the keg sufficiently far away from the walls so if they faint afterwards they don't put a hole in your drywall that will later need patching.

Dude, why did you not come to me in the first place? The BevMo on Arroyo is right across from my apt. and they have like 100 different beers you can get in kegs.

Did anyone mention Bevmo on the Arroyo Parkway in Pasadena yet?
Perhaps a Pasadena MeFi meetup at Crown City or Lucky Baldwin's is in order.

My fiance ordered a keg of something special from BevMo on Arroyo Pkwy for our wedding last month. They forgot to order it, and he had to go over and see what they had in stock that might be a decent substitute. It worked out okay in the end, but if we ever ordered another keg from them, we'd call daily to insure it was actually going to be available.
