Can you post a comment to this article?

Am I the only one who can't add comments to this thread on the ABCNews web site?

I know this isn't the usual AskMeFi fare, but I'm just really curious to see if anyone else is able to post comments to this article on the ABCNews web site because when I try to add a comment of my own, i'm told my comment is submitted, but it never actually appears. Which kind of makes me wonder (paranoia, perhaps?) if these comments are real user comments at all. Many of them do feel a little too convenient to be true. In any case, I'm curious to see if others have the same problem posting comments to this article. If you're interested in trying this out just to help me ease my paranoia, please let me know the result. The result I got may have just been a fluke (but you know what they say about trusting and verifying).

They're moderated, dude. Give it an hour or so. If your comment isn't stupid, it'll show up.

Or, reading some of those comments, even if it is stupid, it'll show up.

Response by poster: Ach so! Maybe that explains it, then. Well, judging from the other comments, I suppose deadfather's right because it does appear that only stupid comments get through because people as a whole can't possibly be that stupid and petty.

Response by poster: you nailed it. there was just a considerable delay. my faith in ABCNews (if not the quality of American civil discourse) has been restored. now i can go back to my happy place.
