Has anyone had any experience with IPodResQ or any other iPod repair outfit? Is there one you can recommend?

I have not, but why not just bring it to Apple? Did you void your warranty or is your warranty expired?

I went through something similar back in March. Sent my iPod to ipodmods and got it back in one piece. Cheaper and faster than Apple and it works like a charm. I think it cost about $40 to fix my issue.
