Help me get to Austin. Know any good (or bad) headhunters in Austin area?
My academic background: BSEE, MBA. Currently working as a product manager for a high-tech company in the northeast. Looking for a headhunter who can connect me with marketing/product management or business development work in Austin. Your experiences good/bad? Thanks!

Try GRN (Global Recruiter's Network). They may have an office in Austin.

Best answer: I've had luck on Monster and Dice. I also combed Austin craigslist and posted my resume on there.
I'm sitting in the Dallas airport, boarding a flight in 20 minutes for an Austin interview, if that's any indication of my success (it's been about 3 weeks). I'll be relocating from the west.
One word of advice - get an Austin phone number and address. You can use something like Vonage to set up a phone # there and forward it to your cell - in addition get like a mailboxes etc address (luckily I had family I could use).
I did this same search in January and heard nothing from nobody with my actual address. Using Austin points of contact it took less than 3 days to get results.
Good luck to you!

Zen - Want to work at IBM? I've got a contact for you. No idea if they're hiring for your role right now, but they'd probably love to place you. I almost was hired by them for a sysadmin position, but I took a job with A&M in College Station instead.
