Before and After the Cup

Thanks to advice here on the green, I have sorted out my transportation logistics for getting to the World Cup. Before and after the Paraguay vs. Trinidad game, I will be visiting Paris, Florence, and Madrid for a few days each. Where should we stay? I don't mind paying $200-$300 a night. Just looking for some nice hotels in good locations for people who don't speak the local languages.

In Paris, these hotels are quite trendy/fancy (these are all in good locations, and no hotel will give you problems for not speaking French, they're used to it).

And here are some slightly less expensive Paris choices as well (I feel I've hit both just above and just below your price range, sorry for that):

Hotel Minerve I've just peeked in but it looks sumptuous and lovely, if old-fashioned. In a great neighborhood in the Latin quarter.

Le General Beware, annoying music if you click the link. Modern, located at République which is great for transportation links.

Caron de Beaumarchais. Great location, decent rooms, friendly staff. Plus, a funky neighborhood where orthodox Jews and young gay folks rub shoulders, if you will.

Er, location perhaps not considered "good".

Anglo drinking: Lush.
