What did I do to my keyboard and or laptop to make it think I`m French

I have done something. My laptop, a basic Dell, now thinks I`m French. How do I fix this is my question. I cannot write a question mark.... just whatever this is É

Using the shift key plus another key, for example the number 3, causes unexpected and undesired french symbols or just not what I want (for example, I can`t type a number symbol using 3 and shift). Please tell me how to fix this. I have tried Google, and failed. thanks!

Control Panel/ Regional Language Options.

Languages tab, Details button.

Settings tab, Installed services portion

may show up in two places on that panel

Best answer: Bonjour! If Windows came pre-installed in your Dell, French may have been installed as an additional language by default. Especially likely if you're in Canada.

You can tackle it through Settings, but the switch may be via one of several standard shortcuts, all of which are easy enough to hit by accident. Start with Windows Key + Spacebar; that might do it.
