Which Eddie Bauer pants should I buy?

I can buy some Eddie Bauer pants. Which ones?

I have a gift card and a discount code that means I can get something from Eddie Bauer for essentially free, or next to nothing. I think I want a pair of pants. I've never bought pants from Eddie Bauer before, so I need guidance. Here's what I'm looking for:

- Not jeans
- Not super-fancy dress pants
- Not, like, ski pants or technical gear for a sport
- Not chinos, but...maybe not not chinos?

I think what I'm looking for would fall in the category of "travel pants", maybe? Something durable, lightweight-ish, versatile in both work and non-work situations. I see they have a few styles that might fit that description, I was just hoping for some actual recs from actual people that might have actual experience with the brand.

Are you looking for mens or women's pants and do you have any particular sizing requirements? I wear worms pants in tall or long and that really narrows down the choices as most options only come in standard length.

I got a pair of their Women's Guide Pro Pants used on ThreadUp, and they are my absolute favorite pants. Definitely fit the travel pants category, comfortable for hiking, but look pretty good for work.

I wear worms pants

I see.

Well if you're looking for pants for humans with legs, I can attest that the boyfriend cut women's pants at EB fit a curvy shaped body surprisingly well.

Oh, sorry: Men's pants, not tall/long or skinny cut. Size 36 or 38 if it matters.

Best answer: Guide pro pants work as both technical hiking and casual pants (in the grey or the black) for me, and they have served me extremely well. They are comfy, and have good zippered pockets etc. They have an elastic waist so size down.

Best answer: I have been wearing the Guide Pro pants exclusively for half a decade (until recently, when I got a new pair of 501s and some heavy pants for working in the yard). They’re excellent for travel and outdoor stuff, and are suitable for wearing in the office. The pockets are great in the men’s pants. My wife complains that the pockets are too small in the women’s (She wears them too.) They really do dry quickly. They’re somewhat stretchy, and while they are not convertible, you can just grab the ends and hike them, inside out, up to your hips if you need to wade or something, and they’ll stay like that for a long time.

Fun bonus fact: they are not impervious to nettles. You’ll get stung right through them. Ask me how I know.

As far as durability, it’s the zippers that seem to go first.

Response by poster: Considering that my odds of encountering a nettle are vanishingly small, and my need for wading in them only slightly less so (but actually may be a thing), Guide Pro pants seem like a good shout. Thanks all!

If you live somewhere where it gets cold, the fleece-lined version is also amazing. (and might be of better protection against nettles)
