Resolution tracker app

Most of my New Year’s resolutions are in the form of “Do [thing] [X] number of times during 2025”. I want an app to track that over the course of the year that also allows me to make a note each time I check off [thing].

For example, “Visit 10 new parks in 2025” or “Read 40 of the books I already own in 2025”. I don’t want to start a habit or build a streak or increase my productivity or have daily reminders, which is how most of the apps I’ve looked at seem to be designed. I want to set a long-term goal and be able to check a box or something each time I visit a new park or read a new book, and also enter somewhere the name of the park or book. Maybe I’m just not using the right words in my search terms, but everything feels designed around daily or weekly goals, constantly reminding you to drink water, etc. Does what I’m looking for exist (for iPhone)?

HelloHabit allows the frequency of a habit to be per month or per year, and you can add a note every time you Do the Thing.

I used an app called that let me make a bunch of simple, named counters that I would increment when I did that thing - I used it for a similar purpose. If you search the app store for Counters or Tally you should find a few to choose from with varying designs and such.

I use a simple Google Sheet to track things like this.

You're looking for gamification apps. I can't speak for specific iPhone apps(I'm team Android), but a search of the app store for "gamify" should show you pretty much all of them.

I track these kinds of projects in my normal to-do list (Remember The Milk), using its repeating-task function. I set a task that says "Read A Book (24)", and have it repeat weekly. When I have read a book, I edit the task name before checking it off for the week. Tasks can have notes attached as well.

The program can repeat a task exactly 24 times, or regenerate only after being checked off, but I want more frequent reminders. I also like having the challenges in the same list as everything else I'm working on.
