Making Li-ion battery behave

I recently bought a spare battery for our Tefal X Force vacuum cleaner from eBay. (https://shop.tefal.co.uk/x-force-flex-12-60-car-cordless-stick-vacuum-cleaner-ty98a1go-black-red)
However, although it works, it provides limited power and won’t display any information on the battery indicator. I have tried power cycling the battery but with no effect
I am pretty certain from the packaging and battery appearance that it is not counterfeit. Tefel / Rowenta 25.2 V battery: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rowenta-ZR009701-Lithium-Ion-Experience-Compatible/dp/B08FCLP1BY
When told about this the seller sent a replacement battery, but same problem. Unfortunately, we disposed of the packaging so we cannot return it.
Has anyone else had similar problems and being able to fix it?

I bought a replacement battery for a GPS device I use on my boat which seemed to work OK, but the device occasionally turned off. It turned out the battery was the tiniest bit too small, and broke contact under curtain circumstances. If battery has more than two contacts, make sure they are all touching.

I don't think this sort of battery is the kind of thing you can DIY-fix yourself, the risk of fire/explosion is too high. I would also only buy high-capacity batteries like this from the original manufacturer for the same reason.
