Remember this browser on Firefox

I use Firefox on Windows 10 with multiple extensions. The process for Remember This Browser checkboxes on websites that I log into frequently does not work. What should I check?

I'd appreciate what settings to look at or extensions that might be a problem.

I currently use Adblock Plus, uMatrix, and DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials which seem like possible culprits, along with others that I wouldn't expect to cause this like Bitwarden, Amazing Marvin, Facebook Container, Fakespot, Pinboard, Popup Tab, Simple Tab Groups, Tampermonkey, Zoom, and Zotero.

"Remember this browser" just means "store cookies or local storage across browsing sessions".

If you've got the "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" option checked under your Privacy And Security options, "remember this browser" will never work.

You might try playing with uMatrix and specifically 'whitelisting' the sites the you want to remember your information. The thing with privacy extensions is they work to clean up any lingering information about history and log-ins (which is a good thing) and they will clean stuff up indiscriminately. Sometimes you have to tell those extensions to carve out exceptions for stuff you want to keep.

Settings -> Privacy and Security is probably where you would begin looking in the browser. If the browser is removing cookies/logins along with history (like mhoye says above) or 'always use private browsing mode' is checked then these would interfere with keeping logins between sessions.
