Interactive video quiz

I’d like to have questions pop up during a video and have my students answer them as they go. This is partially to check understanding in the moment and partially to ensure they watch the video!

We need the responses to give a grade or at least their score, and this is a uni so any established higher education solutions are preferred, especially with integrations to Canvas. I would love if we could have like five random questions from a larger pool to discourage passing the answers around too.

Best answer: At my place we can use H5P for this sort of thing (interactive video). It integrates directly with our LMS (which isn't Canvas), but their website does say there's Canvas support. I'm pretty sure it's all administered by IT and/or Learning Technology.

Best answer: Edpuzzle will do all this, except the random question blocks.

Best answer: If you have a Microsoft 365 license you can do this by embedding Forms in Stream videos, without needing any extra software.
Here is a nice guide.
