Alternative to Hot Hands insole foot warmers? (too hot)

My feet get *very* cold in the winter, even with socks and LL Bean's Wicked Good Slippers, but the Hot Hands insoles get way too hot and I can't keep them on. Anyone have any alternatives?

The Hot Hands insoles get far too hot and feel like burning. I use them as the package instructs - pressed to the soles of my socks and then feet put immediately into shoes (moccasins). There must be a good in-between product somewhere.

The intensity of heat generated by these is related to the availability of oxygen to the iron bits in the package.
Some basic things to try are: less intense shaking or not fully removing the plastic packaging.

Otherwise, sodium acetate warmers are usually less intense (but shorter lasting) than iron versions. They are also not suitable for the underside of feet because they start as a liquid and can rupture with too much pressure.

Electric heating is another, but pricier, option that can be turned on and off as needed. Insoles and socks both exist, but I don't have a product recommendation

I looked up those insoles and am I correct that they go along the entire foot? Did you know there are also smaller foot warmers that just cover the front of your foot? I use the Little Hotties toe warmers and have never had a problem with them feeling too hot. I like to wear them on the top of my sock over the toe area and they are essential for me on cold days of hiking and biking.

Try Snook Ease Heated Insoles. You have to warm them up for 30 sec-1min in the microwave but they provide cozy heat without burning.

Angora rabbit fur is intensely warm, warmer than wool. Angora wool socks are expensive, but worth it. Bonus: you don't create any extra garbage.

Response by poster: Angora rabbit fur is intensely warm, warmer than wool.

I have tried every sock up to and including angora. My feet are *cold* in those socks. I have no options but to use external warmers.
