Tips for Trinidad & Tobago traveller?

I'm thinking of going to T&T early next year - probably in February/March so I can catch the carnival. Anyone got any tips for an enjoyable, interesting* stay there? Dos and don'ts?

* I mean "interesting" here in the good sense, not the "interesting times" sense. I can get enough of that at home.

Tobago is a 20-minute flight from Port of Spain, a few things to do there:

* go on a rainforest tour
* go on a night bioluminescence tour
* of course go to the beach (Pigeon Point is very good)
* Crown Point is very walkable, you can walk to Store Bay beach and there are some nice places to stay walking distance from the airpoint
