What should we name our greenhouse?
November 20, 2024 12:58 PM   Subscribe

We put up a small greenhouse in our backyard as a COVID project but didn't end up getting serious about it till this year. This year we're making a real effort to overwinter some plants and he's really gotten into it with a heating system and remote monitoring. I'd like to make a sign for the greenhouse as a Christmas present for my spouse, who's doing most of the work, but I need a name for it! Amusing is a must. Puns are welcome.

this is awesome!! we just cleared some space in the yard and were thinking of putting in a greenhouse but then we had to have work done on the car ($5000) so we'll be waiting until next year :(

You could do something with the "Welcome to the Garden" meme that was going around a while back where a simple sign inspired a spoof of Guns and Roses' "Welcome to the Jungle"

Liberal Gardens with a picture of a bleeding heart plant before the title. I planted a bleeding heart next to a liberal sign in my yard and I'm 99% sure no one will ever notice (being so far out of town), so I'd love for you to get some use out of it!

I'd go for Valley Forge, but that's only great if you're/they're an SF fan.

The Crystal Palace.

Or...
Very Crystal. (From link above, It has been suggested that the name of the building resulted from a piece penned by the playwright Douglas Jerrold, who in July 1850 wrote in the satirical magazine Punch about the forthcoming Great Exhibition, referring to a "palace of very crystal")
