Recommend a QUIET hair dryer? That's it, that's the whole question.

Panasonic's low-noise Ionity gets good reviews for noise & advertises only 55 decibels, compared to an average around 80. Dyson's hair dryer also looks relatively quiet & is a Wirecutter favorite

If you want to buy a hair dryer that you hope to use for the rest of your life, splurge on a Dyson. I bought mine during an annual sale at Sephora and not only is it quiet, but it doesn't make me feel like I'm in the midst of a hot flash while drying my hair. Rather, the heat is only sent towards my hair, not my entire body.

I wondered how many decibels it was as I typed and found this article with low decibel hair dryers for those with noise sensitivity.

The dyson is actually a vastly improved hair drying experience and it is quieter because there isn't really a motor noise, it's just the air wooshing noise, which to be clear, is still loud, but less loud.

Don't forget to check the official dyson outlet on their website, you can save quite a bit of money.

If it is about noise next to your head rather than just total noise (i.e. noise bothers the user and the issue is not "I don't want to wake/disturb someone in the next room), you could check out the dryers made for dogs, which have a long hose coming from a motor. I have heard that the reason for this is partly so that the motor noise is not right next to the dog.

The Dyson is probably your answer, but if that’s too expensive I do have the top pick Rusk W8less mentioned in the Wirecutter article HearHere linked. It seems quieter and the noise is way less high pitched screamy than the Conair hair dryers I used for most of my life.
