How to fix it so I get email notifications for Twitter DMs?

My Twitter account is set to send me an email notification when I receive a DM on Twitter. (I double-checked the setting.) These Twitter DM email notifications stopped coming 3 days ago. How can I fix this? Any ideas to troubleshoot?
I've had all kinds of stuff stop working on that site recently. Latest one was images not displaying, unless they were part of a link OG metadata.
Short of funding the re-hire of scores of laid-off engineers, there may not be a lot you can do.

It's entirely possible something quietly broke on the Twitter servers and they're just not sending emails out reliably and they either haven't noticed or don't care, in which case there's nothing to be done about it other than perhaps turning the setting off and on again.
