Audible kids account on android

The internet unhelpfully tells me about Amazon households but no way on how to actually link them. Help?
The situation is this. My wife and son both have Android phones, my wife has an audible subscription.
The website seems to imply you can use Amazon households to share books, but how? It tells you to add a child on the household, but once having done this it is entirely unclear what comes next!
Should she login on his phone then somehow switch to child mode? It seems very confusing in a way that Spotify household is not.
We are in the UK is relevant

This page explains a lot of the things you are asking about, including exactly how to add other household members. However it is on the Amazon U.S. page and I am not sure exactly how all the translated to Amazon.co.uk. I think you can sign in to amazon.com & amazon.co.uk with the same username/password though - so perhaps it is all transferable.

In the UK you can manage it from here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/myh/households (this is the same link as flug's just on amazon uk).

Response by poster: Thanks, as I stated in the question I am aware of the household link, the issue is that for a child account you do not add an email, just a child's name... So what do I do next?

The family sharing situation is pretty bad on Amazon (Google's not much better).
I think kids profiles only work on amazon devices, and in the Amazon Kids app. The kids+ app doesn't work without a kids+ subscription (~5 GBP a month).
A fake adult account for the kid added as an adult to the family, or just logging into audible with the main account might also be workarounds.
I ended up giving my daughter a cheap echo dot device just for listening to audible stories. I think the cheapest now is the echo pop - they regularly drop to ~20GBP.
