Confused about Gmail interface for non-gmail email addresses...

I have a personal domain. I would like to send / receive emails from / to that domain using the gmail interface. I am having confusing results. Are you able to help troubleshoot?

So I own a domain (call it example.com). I have two email addresses at that domain. The website for the domain is hosted by Ghost. However, Ghost does not provide email, so Siteground provides the email services.

Using Siteground's Webmail interface I can send and receive fine.

However, I would prefer the emails to come into my Gmail interface using their other "accounts" settings. I have done this for countless domains throughout the years without issue. However, I am having issues this time:

1. I punched the settings provided by Siteground into gmail's "add account" interface.
2. Gmail authenticated the settings and provided no errors.
3. While in the Gmail interface, I can send emails from both accounts.
4. If sending an email from my regular gmail account to one of my addresses at example.com, the email sends fine and is received fine in the gmail interface.
5. If I email either account from a different email address than my gmail (or if somone else emails either account), the email arrives at the Siteground Webmail box, but never arrives in my Gmail interface.

What exactly is going on here and how do I fix it so I never have to log into Webmail again and can get all my emails from one Gmail interface?

Thanks!

Best answer: Did you add the Siteground account under "Send mail as" or "Check mail from other accounts" in Gmail? You would need to do both.

Response by poster: Ugh. I can't believe I missed that.

Thank you very much, maxim0512.
