SF shredder

Anyone know of somewhere one can either borrow or rent a paper shredder in San Francisco?

I don't work in an office, and just need to use it once, and I'm moving, so I don't want to buy one.

My local UPS store has a sign in the window offering rental use of a shredder on premises. I think it was fifty cents a pound, 6 pound minimum (i.e. $3 minimum). But you have to take the paper there; they don't lend the shredder out.

You can get really cheap ones for < $10 at OfficeMax. If not, try what SCDB suggested.

Anything you buy cheap won't handle much of load, and by that I mean both at once or over time. I've picked up a couple of cheap ones, which could not handle more than 10 sheets at a time, and even when fed 10 sheets at a time, heated up and burned out after about an hour.

If you have a significant load, take it to where SCDB suggests. Or, pick up a more serious one at Staples, shred your stuff, and return it :-)

There are many paper shredding services for businesses in every major city. Look in the yellow pages or online. A quick check shows this company but there are tons of others.

Your bank will have a paper shredder on-site, and they are almost always willing to shred your old checkbooks for you. Maybe give them a call and ask if you can drop off a bigger load?
