A new ipad pro that I only use at home, how to take care of the battery?

I got an ipad pro that I basically use as a TV. I'm not quite sure what the best "charging strategy" is. Is leaving it plugged in all the time ok?

Googling around is tricky because it seems like apple has added a lot to ipads to manage battery life...so a lot of advice might not apply? Regardless, while theoretically I can take the ipad around, and very occassionally do (the most notable being when I go on trips), on the whole it sits in the same spot and acts like a TV. It's easiest to just leave it plugged in but...I'm afraid of killing the battery. Before this I had a much older ipad (so undoubtedly a much older battery, much older OS etc etc) whose battery life got utterly ravaged by my use of it, so I'd like to avoid that.

For extra credit, I also bought a bluetooth speaker that I largely intend to use at home. That I doubt has fancy battery saving firmware, so I'd also be curious what advice applies to that, if different.

Your Bluetooth speaker manufacturer's support people should be able to tell you whether continuous charging is OK for that.

I have an Ipad pro (either one or two models behind the newest) that I use that way, and I leave it plugged in almost all the time. On the rare occasions when I use it on battery mode, the battery life situation seems pretty normal.

There is a setting that you can use for iPad Pros that is intended to prolong total battery life by maintaining charge at 80%, rather than 100%. You can read about it here:

From the above advice it seems unnecessary, but if you are still worried about it, another approach would be to put an easy-to-use switch on the charging device. As as clumsy, but illustrative example, plug the charger into a surge protector (remember those?) with an on/off switch.
