Yes -- just that. Want to have lunch in a nice spot, sitting outside near a HEAT LAMP! This appears hard to search for!

Best answer: I sympathize A LOT and will be interested in answers!

I asked a question last month where someone mentioned The Smith in the East Village, 55 Third Avenue (between 10th & 11th Street). I called them in January and verified that they do have actual outdoor seating, with heaters, under a roof but open to air circulation. And they are open during lunchtime.

I'm not sure whether offering lunch is a sine qua non, but Silver Apricot (dinner only) has heaters for its outdoor seating, and their scallion puffs are ah-may-zing.

Response by poster: These are all great suggestions, but the Smith, which I'd forgotten about, is walking distance from my home and has a great variety of dishes. Thanks!
