ergonomic sit/stand chairs?

I work at an adjustable-height desk where I can sit or stand, and I'm in need of a good chair for it. What are the best adjustable-height chairs that come with armrests, lumbar support, and a headrest, and are reasonably priced? Willing to compromise on some of these features if needed, except the adjustable height and armrests.

What does “reasonable price” mean to you? Also, what range of height adjustment are you after?

look into architect's chairs, typically they have a very large range of height adjustment

I use a wobble stool with my standing desk. It doesn't have any of the features you asked for, it makes you sit up straight on your own and it's not amazingly comfortable, which is a feature. My objective is to stand more, but then have the stool for a seated break, but not have a seat that's so comfy that I stay seated all day.

Yes, the price question really matters a lot.

I recently bought this chair, as I had similar needs, and the price was not exorbitant for a new office chair. I would not buy it again. The pitch of the chair is not great for me, is not adjustable, and it has created some mid-back pain, even as it has eased some low-back pain. I bought this chair after having tried out the options at local office supply stores and being mostly dissatisfied. I wanted something that wasn't as expensive as my 15-year-old office chair at my workplace, which today is somewhere around $1600-1800 for an individual to purchase.

This is one of those specialty things that reddit is actually good for, because of course there is a subreddit with almost 30k members that exclusively discusses office chairs. There are so many options it's tough to say what is "best," but a few hours of browsing should yield plenty of good recommendations. I spent a day reading reviews before deciding not to think about it so much and just getting something in my price range that was regularly recommended, and have been happy with the result. (It was a WorkPro Quantum 9000 from Office Depot - which doesn't go high enough for a standing desk, but if it's easy to change the desk height maybe you don't need a chair that goes up as you'll either be standing or moving the desk down to sit?)

If you have a nice office chair you like, Crandall sells conversion kits. They also sell refurb chairs at a good price.

I have a Steelcase Amia Stool that I bought at auction that I really like. Great adjustability and support. No head rest, but I don't really lean my head back much at the standing desk. I had a Steelcase Leap desk height chair at the office in The Before, and I think the cheaper Amia line feels just as supportive and adjustable.

Check out used gaming chairs for sale on Craigslist or another community sale site.
