Can you configure Audio Technica headphones to work with a PS5?

I'm totally addicted to my Audio Technica ATH-M50 headphones, and I'd like to configure a wireless version of these to work with my PS5.

My current headset is Sony's Pulse 3D, which is . . . fine, but thin on the base end. The headset interacts with a bluetooth dongle which fits in a USB-A port on the console. I don't need the mic on the headset, so I'd like to replace the unit with ATH-M50s headphones, if possible.

Has anybody attempted this configuration? What steps and dongles or adapters would be involved? Are there any downsides, such as the loss or degradation of 3D audio, making it difficult to hear the flanking attacks of enemies in games?

If ATH-M50s won't play nice with the PS5, are there any high-end gaming headsets with Audio Technica-comparable quality that do?

You might in theory be able to get something wireless set up with a bluetooth transmitter paired with a bluetooth receiver, however I'm not sure I've ever seen one that could pair up directly like that. Most of them assume they're connecting to a device with a screen on the other end. Also bluetooth is notorious for introducing latency and/or sound quality issues. Maybe someone else has different advice here though.

In terms of gaming headset recommendations, I really like my SteelSeries Arctis 7 wireless headset, and I think they sound very good, though I'm no audiophile either. They should be compatible with PS5 though.

Was connecting them to the DualSense controller ruled out? If you really just want to use that specific set of headphones, you can do that - there's a 3.5mm port on the bottom of your controller - but that might be annoying with the headphone cable..
