Thanksgiving in NYC, but not turkey

We have a friend arriving at 5pm in Penn station on Thanksgiving, and would like to grab dinner with him before we all head up to Westchester, where should we go?

We will be doing the whole Thanksgiving dinner on Friday, and would really rather have some other type of food (open to all suggestions) that night.

Im finding it difficult to find which restaurants are open, and most articles are suggesting the hotel/fancy price fix kind of thing (though if its a set menu its fine, I just don't want hotel turkey). For example, if it was not so far downtown and potentially not open, we would 100% go to Nom Wah.

We could also ponder somewhere in Westchester if you have real OMG you have to try this place. Thanks!

This is going to be one of those annoying half-answers, but you'll be right by Koreatown...some of those places have got to be open on Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, those places are also the kind that tend not to put elaborate information on the web.

For a fancier experience, the Noortwyck in the West Village has been a steady crowd-pleaser with my crowd; their Thanksgiving menu is here. Quick trip on the subway, but not a long one via taxi, either.

I believe Denny's is open every single day.

abcV is vegetarian, so there's no danger of turkey. They're saying they're offering both prix fixe and a la carte menus on Thanksgiving and are open 12-8, but there's not a lot of detail up on their website.

Chinese in Chinatown...always an option.

As mentioned, every place in Koreatown should be open. Here's a pretty good list of recommendations. (I'm a particular fan of Her Name is Han.)
