Where to park near Scotiabank Arena in Toronto?

I'm driving up to Toronto (from Buffalo) on tuesday to see Duran Duran at the Scotiabank arena. I know there are a bunch of lots and ramps nearby, but does anyone have any recommendations for a specific one?

We'll be getting there mid afternoon, so we'll hav time beforehand. Since it's a weekday, we'd like to get out of there easily. Does it make sense to park further away and take the train to the arena?

Also, are there any restaurants nearby you'd recommend?

No specific recommendations but I suggest SpotHero to find a spot and get a better rate. Taking the train makes sense. Getting out of that area in a car is a nightmare at all times and is just comically difficult after big events.

I am not a fan of downtown driving in Toronto, or parking fees. You mentioned train -- there is a Government of Ontario rail service called GO Transit that runs a fair ways out of the city, and they have free parking in their commuter lots.

When my wife and I go to Toronto from the east side, we drive to Whitby or Ajax, park at a GO station, and take the train in and out rather than driving in the city. Scotiabank Arena is literally a ~10-minute walk from Union Station, the hub of all trains. Trains run late.

I come from the east and Buffalo is west, so I'm not sure what the best station / parking combo would be if that interests you. But it's much less aggravating and cheaper than downtown parking.

If it were me, I would take the GO Train from Burlington Station. It's close to the QEW, just after you cross the Burlington Skyway, inbound. The last time I drove all the way into the city from Niagara on a weekday afternoon (in late June) it was unpleasant.

You can tap on and off using your credit card or you can buy a ticket from the machine at the station. If you get on the train about 1/3 of the train length from the east end, you will be close to the Bay Concourse at Union which is the closest exit to Scotiabank Arena.

For food, you could try Wvrst in Union Station. A short walk away is C'est What which is great if you are a beer fan. There are a number of other restaurants on Front St., east of Yonge. Pick the type of food that appeals to you and go from there.

If you are going to drive, there is a reliable parking lot at 155 Wellington St W, next to the Ritz Carlton. It is a 10 minute walk to Scotiabank Arena, and an 8 minute walk to Union Station.
