Quiche: hot, cold, or room temp?

Are quiches appropriately served hot, chilled, or at room temperature? That is all.

Good quiche is good regardless. Just look very affronted if anyone dares question the temperature you've chosen and invite them to not have any quiche. More for you.

Cold quiche is fancier and I would expect extra effort be put into it to elevate the texture and consistency of the eggs.

Warm quiche is more of an every day meal.

Geography has a part to play, in warm SE Queensland cold quiche is quite a treat on a hot summer day.

In my experience, typically served either room temperature (like on a brunch buffet) or warm (more often in a home setting.)

Leftovers are very delicious cold but I haven't seen quiches served that way in any formal setting.

Yes.

Seems like the majority of the fruit quiches we eat are served cold, but YMMV.

I agree with Baethan that a wide variety of temperatures are acceptable. If you plan to serve it cold, increase the salt in the recipe a bit. We generally perceive cold foods as blander than warm foods.

It's a matter of personal preference,

but for me, quiche had better be piping hot - I find cold quiche really unappealing and hard to choke down.

I was served a cold savory quiche not long ago, and everyone there was quietly surprised. There was a lot of surreptitious microwaving where the bringer couldn't see. It tastes like leftovers when cold! Like we'd just popped by and they happened to have something in the fridge.

I have nearly always had them at more or less room temperature. Typically at buffet style brunches or parties, where trying to keep them hot would be difficult. Straight out of the fridge they tend not to be as good- better if you heat them up just a bit, but I don't think I've ever eaten a quiche actually hot- all the recipes I've seen tell you to let them cool before cutting.

Yeah, I'd also use a microwave if a quiche was cold, or just not eat it if that wasn't an option. I wouldn't judge the person who brought it or anything, but I find a cold quiche pretty unappealing.

Another vote for all of the above, but consider context. Cold quiche is a treat at a picnic on a hot summer day; not so much in the middle of winter.
