Pearl Buck epistolary fiction

When I was a kid I picked up a second hand textbook and read most of it. One of the pieces was by Pearl Buck and consisted of letters written by (between) a young bride and her mother. Her new husband is Westernized and opposes foot binding, a procedure she underwent in childhood. I would appreciate any help with locating the piece (not sure if it was a chapter of a novel or a short story.

Best answer: I think the piece might have been excerpted from East Wind: West Wind, which is about a young Chinese woman whose husband, a medical doctor, unbinds her feet for her at her request.

Best answer: Came to say the same - East Wind: West Wind has the same kind of tone as a letter and is concerned with exactly these issues. Here is a link to the Internet Archive full text of the book.
