Need a piano tuner AND repair person in New York City

My piano needs tuning desperately. There is also one key that barely plays anymore. I need to get someone in who is really good at piano repair. The piano is a 1908 Steinway upright.

The word you want is "piano technician".

Are you near one of the music schools? Juilliard, Manhattan, Mannes, Eastman? You could ask who they use.

Steinway have a piano technician apprenticeship program-- you could contact them and see if you could get yours repaired at a reduced cost by having it used to teach. It would likely take longer but it's worth an ask.

If there's a piano shop near you that sells second hand, they will likely have a technician or two on staff.

I have used Arolla Piano for both tuning and repairs, and been happy with them.
