Don't want to OK new Google Calendar events on iOS

Every time one of us adds an event to the shared family Google Calendar, the others have to acknowledge it. How do we just have our phones silently accept every new event?

Is this a Google setting? (I can't find one, and I "own" the calendar.)

Is it an iOS setting?

Thank you to anyone who can solve this seemingly simple question that bothers us disproportionately!

Response by poster: Is it google.com -> Calendar -> Settings -> Setting For My Calendar -> Auto-Accept invitations -> "Automatically add all invitations for this calendar"?

Can you describe exactly what you mean by "have to acknowledge it"? How does the request for acknowledgement appear, what does it say, and what happens if you do/don’t respond to it?

Under "Other notifications" in the calendar settings, have you (or other family members) have notifications enabled for when events are added or changed? (You may need to use the Google Calendar web site on desktop to find this setting.)

When you add an event, are you adding people to the event as “guests”? If so, it will send invitations to each “guest” to add the event to their personal calendars. If you don’t want this, just add the event to the shared calendar without any individual guests listed.

Response by poster: Found it (I think)!!

On the phone, open the Calendars app. Bring up the list of calendars, and tap once on the i-in-a-circle to the right of the calendar's name. Slide the button for "Event alerts" to off. Tap "Done" once and then again.

Viola!
