Custom jewelry maker in Brooklyn (or Asheville)

I have a very tiny pearl that I'd like to have set in a simple gold pendant. Looking for a Brooklyn or Asheville maker that I can visit/work with in person.

I have a very small pearl, maybe 2mm, that I'd like to have set in a gold pendant for a necklace as a gift. Most custom jewelers I've googled look like they only work with big-ticket stones/gems for many thousands of dollars. I'm looking for something much simpler and smaller scale, minimal design ask and labor. I'd prefer to work with someone local so recommendations for Brooklyn/lower Manhattan would be appreciated! Would potentially also be interested in recommendations for someone in the Asheville NC area as I'll be spending some time in the next month as well.

I have a pair of custom earrings from Studio Wendt, based in Brooklyn. I think he'd be able to work with you to do a pendant for less than $1000s.

It's Charlotte, not Asheville, but we had our wedding and engagement rings custom made there, using old family gold and jewels. We also had some pearls from one ring turned into pearl stud earrings, so I don't think price/value is an issue.
