Cordless vacuum for long hair

Does this exist? A cordless vacuum that doesn't get tangled with long hair 1.5 seconds after I start vacuuming? No carpets, just hardwood. I know corded vacuums are superior but I will just end up not using it. Been eying the Dyson V15 from Costco because I've heard murmurs of "anti-tangle technology." Is this just a tease or has someone actually figured it out?

I just bought this for my mom. It claims to have self-cleabing brushes that remove tangled hair. She hasn't really tried it yet and plans to use it mostly for the car, so this is a suggestion not an endorsement.

Note that the reviews are for all the various models.including the ones without the self-cleaning brushes so I imagine hard to Internet.

I have a dyson (yellow), not cordless, and so does my mom (purple). They both definitely wrap hair around the rollers

I think you would have a ton of luck posting this question to the vacuum cleaner subreddit. I’m not sure which one is the main one, but it’s full of vacuum cleaner techs and has a very thorough guide. They take vacuums very seriously.

The Sharks with the self-cleaning brush roll are magical. We have one and despite my long hair and vacuuming up stray thread from sewing projects, not to mention three dogs, ours has never once had a single hair or thread wrapped around the brush. I cannot recommend it enough for people with long hair.

Canister vac. I believe some are cordless.

We use a Dyson stick with a soft roller (I think they called it the "Fluffy") on hardwood and it works great and does not tangle with our endless dog hair tumbleweeds.

When I read this question I 100% thought you had floor-length hair that kept getting sucked into your vacuum cleaner. I was like, “wow!” Anyway, carry on!

My cordless Dyson is oldish, a Total v6, and it ends up with my hair wrapped round the roller. Oddly, it's much more of an issue with the carpet roller than the hard-floor one, but maybe there's just more hair to pick up in the rooms with carpet. It's easily snipped free - more so than with previous vacuum cleaners I've had - but this is not the magical tangle-free cordless vacuum of your dreams.

I bought the Dyson V12 because I have both long hair and cats, and while it was probably the single most expensive purchase of my life (after my flat) it has never once gotten either kind of hair wrapped around its rollers.

I guess the V15 is a more advanced version than my V12. I say go for it.

The famous Reddit Vacuum Guy (u/touchmyfuckingcoffee) has a video on Dyson brush roll cleaning. (He uses a bench mounted wire wheel.)

I also have the Dyson V12 and it is amazing. No more haircuts for my vacuum cleaner.

Seconding Shark's self-cleaning brushroll. We have a corded version--not sure if they make a cordless--and it's wonderfully tangle-free. Our previous one required scissors and serious effort to clean after each vacuuming.

I have a dyson v12(I think, it's the one with the laser) and the cloth roller for hardwood never really gets tangled at all. I think I've had it happen once where a bit of twine allowed hair to get stuck in it, but it was very easy to break down and fix. I will say the thing I've found with dyson is that their stuff is built far better than most with user servicing in mind.

(oh btw we're a household with two people with long hair and two long hair cats)

We have a V15 and I have very long hair. The anti-hair-wrapping feature is magical.
