French multi-panel comic about persevering in art

I'm looking for a specific, multi-panel cartoon, in French or in English translation. It's by a now-esteemed French comics maker. The message of the cartoon is to persevere even though you feel that your work is hackneyed or undeveloped, or that your ideas have been aired many times before.

The art is slightly caricatured or stylized, monochromatic line drawing, if I remember correctly.

This was published between, I think, 2005 and 2015. I do not know where it was originally published. I may have originally seen it via Metafilter.

Best answer: Have no idea whether I'm barking up the correct tree, here, but:

Any chance it's "Not / But" by Tonci Zonjic?

Response by poster: That is exactly the one, thank you, Jeanne.

Neat! Thanks for the Ask, I hadn't seen this before.

Came in to say “it’s probably not Not/But, but…” except I guess it was. Hooray. On this theme more generally, Tonci’s blog is a good resource.

Oh shoot, he posted a Charlie Kaufman quote that made me misty-eyed.
