Facebook take a break not working

I just discovered facebook has a take a break feature. I tried it on several profiles and keep seeing content from those friends. Is there a better solution to showing certain friends' posts less often?

I often click the ... on a post from someone that's annoying me and select "snooze for 30 days" and I don't see any of their posts until that 30 days is up.

Yeah, I think your options are 30 days and forever. Fwiw, I use the 30-day timeout on some of the more fact-averse members of my family and nothing gets through for the specified time. You can still search them out if you want to see what’s going on with them.

The 30-day option works well for me, if I don't want someone putting trash in my experience, but I don't want to unfriend them entirely.

There have also been ways to prioritize-deprioritize people deeper in the menus; those don't have such obvious effects for me. Easier to downgrade than to upgrade people is what I've seen. I've taken to searching for individual people I want to follow and just reading their newsfeeds directly instead of trying to prioritize them.

I've "unfollowed" some friends who I don't want to unfriend completely, but I really don't want to see their posts. This works well.
