bay area gardening

Are there community gardens in the Bay Area (SF/Oakland/Berkeley) that will take volunteers for drop-in shifts on weekends? Not a ton of skills but down to learn and contribute. Looking for a regular, low-commitment volunteer opportunity. East Bay preferred.

Alemany Farm is an option, though they now seem to require you register rather than just dropping in on Saturday afternoons.

Ploughshares in Alameda always needs volunteers. They're a nonprofit plant nursery that trains and employs people from the Alameda Point Collaborative supportive housing community.
