Donating Clothes

I have a closet full of clothes that don't fit me anymore. They came with me in my last move ( which was 15 months ago ) Most are in good condition but I just want them gone, so I can place the boxes in the dining area in the closet.
However, it feels wrong to just put them in bags and throw away. Where can I donate these, within 15 miles of Alexandria Virginia?
I like Columbia Pike Thrift Shop, near Bailey's Crossroads. They are NOT a goodwill, which is important to me. They take women's clothes, which they said are their best-selling category of item.
If you have business casual or business formal clothes, Dress for Success DC helps women who are in a bad situation have interview/first weeks on the new job clothes. They are kind of a pain to donate to with limited hours (volunteer -run) but it's a great org. They especially need very small or plus sizes.

+1 for GreenDrop. For nicer clothes for work I have donated to A Wider Circle in the past.

House of Ruth is a DC-area-based nonprofit that shelters and advises women (and their children) who have experienced being homeless as a result of abuse. They operate secondhand clothing stores that sell your used clothes and use the proceeds, in addition to using some of the clothes for the victims they help. Highly recommend from personal experience.

If you haven't joined a neighborhood Buy Nothing or Freecycle group, I suggest you do so! They are excellent for this.

Martha's Table accepts clothes in good condition for Martha's Outfitters, a thrift store that also provides subsidies for qualifying DC residents.
