Problem activating Google For Non Profits products

Our non-profit was approved for *Google For NonProfits*. I'm trying to set it up now and running into a login problem. I'm trying to activate Google Workspace for NonProfits. It asks me to login to an administrator account. I don't seem to have one and don't know how to get one. On the tab under "Administrators" there are two gmail addresses of ours but these don't seem to be the admin accounts that they are looking for. Help!

In my experience with Workspace, the primary email address you've been using for signup and contact gets magically blessed with Administrator properties.

If you go to www.google.com/a/yourdomain.org, can you log in with your current email address and password?

Response by poster: Joe, I get "404. That’s an error. The requested URL was not found on this server. That’s all we know.".... when I try that.

You might be able to reach a human for support, though I don't know if this method still works. If you are able to log into Google Workspace in some account (not necessarily the admin account), see if there is a question mark inside a circle toward the upper-right corner of your browser window. Click on the circle, and an automated chat will come up. Type your question into the chat box. The answer you get probably won't be helpful. Go through several cycles of this, and keep saying that the answer you received didn't address your question. Eventually, you will have the option to chat with a human support person. You might have to wait in the queue for a while.

This method worked for me some time ago, maybe a year or two.

storybored: hate to ask, but you substituted your domain for my example (yourdomain.org)?

Also, try this link (but substitute your organization's domain name):

https://admin.google.com/?dn=yourdomain.org

However, my guess is that this won't work because it sounds like you haven't finished going through the process of setting up your Google Workspace account.

Response by poster: Fixed it! I had forgotten I had set up an admin account, I thought it was a gmail account that it needed but nope it was a username@mydomain.org account. Thanks for getting me on the right track folks.

Huzzah!

Just a word of advice here - set up a second admin account with an email address under your control that's outside of your workspace domain. Putting all your eggs in one basket (domain record, email MX, admin account) can put you in serious peril if something gets locked out by Google.

I use them too, but I don't fully trust them.
