How to mute this GE microwave?

I’ve read the manual and it says nothing about beeping noises or muting, but I do see something that says “mute” here, so that must mean something? Here are photos of the control panel.
It could be the screen LCD is used across multiple models, some have mute and some might not. I bought a GE microwave last year and having a mute button was a distinguishing feature among its peers in the big box store.

Seconding that the display is likely a standardized part used across a wide range of microwaves to cut down manufacturing costs; your specific microwave may not have that feature.
It would be helpful to have a specific model number to say for sure, though.

If there's not a way to do it with the buttons, opening it up and removing the beeper is guaranteed to work. If you're not handy with electronics, maybe ask a friend or appliance repair shop to do it?

Yes, or just snip one or both wires leading to the speaker. You could then wrap the cut wires with something like electrician's tape. This is my own preferred method for devices like this.

On the microwave we have, there is a set of instructions printed on the inside of the door frame; there is a button sequence outlined to access some hidden menu features including the beeper volume. The instructions are nearby the power/eco-info/warnings so you might find your how to into there!
