Looking for an affordable dentist doing partial dentures in NYC

Can anyone recommend a kind, affordable and good dentist for a partial denture in NYC (replacing just one missing tooth)?
Unfortunately, implants would require multiple teeth at once and are not affordable right now. My friend has no health insurance or medicaid, so payment would be out of pocket. They had a terrible experience with NYU Dental School and is afraid to go that route. Also, if someone can give a cost estimation, that would be helpful too.
