Punk rock equestrian safari clothing in NYC

I'll be in NYC for a quick trip this weekend, and would like to do a little clothing/accessories shopping while I'm there. Pertinent facts:

I'm female and hourglass-shaped, and can't really get away with male clothing. I'm currently wearing clothing that tends toward the punk rock safari equestrian -- practical/utilitarian in function, but edgier in look, with things that fit instead of draping (belts around the middle, no currently-stylish boxy shirts, etc). Dresses, pants, skirts, etc. are all good, but I'm 6'0" tall, which makes things challenging.

Things I'm especially interested in: a quality wool coat, fun accessories (high-quality leather, yes!), really great basics, esp. if I can order online once I find what I like. (I'm thinking of going to the Madewell store.)

I'm staying in the Garment District, and probably won't travel super-far b/c I won't have time, so preference is for that general area (Garment District, Midtown, Chelsea, etc.). Google Maps is no help in NYC, and I'm not finding much by way of searching. Hope me, NYC Mefites!

Best answer: Aritzia usually has a nice coat selection (you might be a little late in the year for it, though) and has a few locations in Manhattan. There's both an Aritzia and Madewell in Hudson Yards if you want to knock both out at the same time, there's also a couple pretty close to each other near Union Square.

If price isn't much of an object, maybe you want rag & bone? I can't speak to the sizing at all, though.

Best answer: There is a Nordstrom at Broadway and 57th. I would look at wool coats there. Higher quality than Madewell.

I really like Beacon’s Closet down in the Chelsea area, if secondhand stores are an option you like.

Best answer: For punk rock wear Trash & Vaudeville is quite smack on the nose -- though its fabulousness must be inevitably dimmed by the loss of Jimmy to cancer a few years ago. Definitely more punk rock than equestrian safari! But perhaps worth checking out nonetheless.
