Quest for folio

Now that I'm going into the office more often, I find myself carrying my paper planners to and from work. It's easy to forget or get lazy about it, so I thought I'd look for a folio-type container that I could just put in my backpack at the end of the day that could hold them both, plus ideally have space for a few more documents or pens or the like.

So I need one that can comfortably hold (in a pocket/slot/etc.) a full-sized regular U.S. notebook (NOT a writing pad) with another pocket for a Field Notes. A folio designed to carry a larger iPad or the smallest Macbook would probably work, as long as the slot/sleeve had the appropriate allowance for thickness.

So far the closest I have come is this, but (a) it's more organization than I need and (b) it's sliiiightly on the casual side for my job. This, on the other hand, feels a bit overdone, plus I don't need the pad side. I could make either work, but I thought I'd consult the hive mind for alternatives. Sub-$100 unless it's freaking gorgeous and perfect for my needs, and my back tells me I don't need leather.

Best answer: Maybe the Lihit Lab Bag in Bag in A4?

I have one in A4 and A5, and I like them both a lot. They’re slightly padded so I also carry my laptop or iPad. The small one is great for the iPad mini. I also use a plastic A4 envelope for papers I got from jet pens, too.

Best answer: I have a wool felt laptop sleeve that I bought off Etsy that I have used on several occasions as a folio. +1 for lightweight as well as clean design. There are tons of sellers making this type of product. Here's one with a second pocket that might fit your Field Notes if not, it looks like this store also does custom sizing.
