Best way to give away a Rollator style wheeled walker?

My dad, alas, no longer needs his Rollator style four-wheel walker. Where and how should I give it away? I'm in Eastern Long Island, NY, right now.

Try your local Facebook Buy Nothing group. I gave away a lot of my husband’s assistive stuff that way.

I got a wheelchair for my mother a similar way back when Craigslist was the thing.

Not a super fan of Nextdoor, but that is another option where people give things away locally.

Craigslist is still good for this, too—listing it in Free Stuff will likely get you some takers (not sure if they have a more specific location choice for where you are).

The term 'closet' is usually used by local groups, like medical supply closet or dme closet (durable medical equipment). You can also ask a nurse at one of his providers' offices to see if they have one they tend to refer patients to.

Goodwill. I took lots of my dad's stuff there. It ends up on the floor immediately and is the first place I think people look when they need it.

If you know a social worker who works in any medical field what so ever, they will take it from you in a heartbeat.

Legion? One a few towns over lends out assistive devices to anyone who could use them. No fee, no means test, you just sign it/them out for as long as necessary.

Are you near Smithtown? "​The Society For Lending Comforts To The Sick" was a big help when my mom needed some things like a walker. Really nice people as well.

Goodwill. Freecycle.
A rollator will be gone in seconds.
