Recent film about babysitting a doll?

I recently watched a low budget US horror/ thriller film about a teenage girl who gains employment as a babysitter with a local woman, but the baby ends up being a doll. The "mother" is convinced the doll is a real child.

It wasn't Annabel, The Boy, Servant, Charlotte, Red Balloon or a bunch of other stuff Google throws up. The film was made in probably the last five years. Other stuff I remember - the house was dark and gothic, the doll itself I think was inanimate, and the film was fairly low budget with a small cast and no major actors. The doll wasn't particularly horrific, it was just a doll. Any ideas?

Was it The Boy? (I only know of the film because it was covered on the flop house podcast)

(Oops. I missed the edit window and now I see that you already excluded the boy in your list. My mistake.)

Best answer: Is it The Truth about Emanuel? It features a major actor with Jessica Biel as a central figure, but otherwise seems to meet your criteria.

It really sounds like The Boy, but if it wasn’t that then maybe it was Brahms: The Boy II? I guess Katie Holmes’ “major actor” status can be debated...

Best answer: Ms. Toad beat me to it; although this does have Jessica Beal in the cast, it's pretty low-key and low-budget in its overall vibe.

Not made in the last five years, but this sounds an awful lot like Invisible Child. Rita Wilson was in it.

Oops, sorry, totally missed that rainy day girl already suggested that one.

Apple TV has a show called The Servant with that premise. I wouldn’t call it low budget, though.

Response by poster: Thanks everyone! It is The Truth about Emanuel. I'd forgotten Jessica Biel.
