Bookish cookies needed

I want to serve about 2 dozen *individually wrapped* cookies in the shape of books at a public library event. Per health codes, I can’t make them myself—I need to purchase retail. It’s for an adult event, but cuteness is worth bonus points. The event is one month away. Any ideas of specific places where I could order such a thing online? (Had a deal worked out with a local place but they cancelled on me)

I did a search for individually wrapped custom cookie shapes and this is the first one I clicked on. Look like they do individual wrapping as well as custom shapes.

There are Etsy sellers who will sell you book-shaped cookies--I don't have any experience with them, but here are a few.

(Depending on where you live, you might be able to make them yourself if you do it in a commercial kitchen. Some of these are rentable by the hour.)

I know an Etsy cookie seller who does custom cookies and has done them individually wrapped for weddings. They're in the UK so I assume not useful for you but I'm sure it would be easy enough to find a US seller who would do individually wrapped custom cookies.

I’m wondering whether an Etsy seller is going to meet health code requirements. Plus that’s going to vary by state.

An alternate. -- you could focus on delicious wrapped cookie - and instead of having cookies made, have a great custom sticker on the package.

Find a local bakery. Find an _awesome_ local bakery.

Think for a moment what kind of cookies you might want, in case the bakery offers you choices or asks you what kind of cookie: shortbread? Sandwich cookies? Cookies made from phyllo dough that looks like pages? Cro-okies (croissant cookies - not a thing, but I would totally try this if it were)? Sugar cookies? Spice cookies?

if (wantfreecookies):

Find out if your event will let you put up a sign thanking the local bakery.

Ask the local bakery if they'd be willing to make 2 dozen cookies in the shape of books and individually wrap them in exchange for the amazing free publicity of having their sign up at a public library event.

Maybe offer to buy a cookie cutter for them, if you find a good one ahead of time.

If they don't usually sell individually-wrapped cookies, offer to get some bags for them.

if (theysayyes):

Call a couple of days before the event to make sure they're still into it.

Ask if they need you to make the sign (if a sign is allowed), or if they have a small one - specify the size allowed, maybe letter size or half-page or quarter-page.

Plan how you'll put out the sign. Flat on the table next to the cookies is probably fine.

if (theysayno):

Ask how much the bakery would charge for two dozen book-shaped cookies, and if they have the bags and/or cookie cutter they'd need.

** If you end up looking for a baker on Etsy, look for one near you - it's super easy to do a geographic search by specifying your state or city in the detailed search interface.
