Epididymitis and ejaculation

I have a particularly bad case of epididymitis and am having problems where I can not ejaculate. You are not a doctor and even if you are, you aren’t my doctor or urologist, but if you have any ideas on how to fix this, that would be great.

I’ve been having a particularly bad case of epididymitis. I’ve had it before and after taking some antibiotics it usually went away. This time has been more difficult.

It returned in November of 2022 and I was put on a six week course of antibiotics (sulfamethoxazole-tmp ds, along with some anti inflammatories (Nabumetone). That helped with the swelling and pain, but near the end of that six week treatment, I was still having pain and swelling. So the urologist put me on another six week course, with the same drugs.

Things are better, for sure, but there’s a newer problem. I can’t ejaculate. I can get hard, sometimes with ED pills (prescribed in December when I was having problems getting hard), but lately without. My partner (F) does all the usual things that get me erect, and it can feel like I’m about to cum, but I don’t ejaculate, yet my erection goes away and I generally feel the after-cumming sensation without the actual cuming sensation.

It’s been quite annoying and frustrating. I don’t have “blue balls” but I do feel frustrated that I can’t ejaculate. Anyone have any ideas on how I can ejaculate as I continue recovering from a severe case of epididymitis?

Talk to your urologist. This isn't something you should try to just work out for yourself.

Was the root cause of the condition identified and treated? I would get a second opinion.

Response by poster: Root cause was never determined, other than "sometimes this just develops in men". Was tested for STDs and had multiple sonograms looking for abcesses and what not.

Basically, I've been to the doctor, multiple times, and there doesn't seem to be any solid answers there, hence asking strangers on the internet for suggestions.

I'm guessing (and it's only a guess) that it's a prostate issue. I've had prostate problems since my early twenties, and one of the medications I took for it caused me to have these weird almost-orgasms where I'd get close and then suddenly my excitement would crash and nothing would come out. It got better when I switched to a new med. So it may be something is going on with your prostate, or one of your meds is causing this, or... something else. It's a new problem and it really is something to ask your doctor about.
