help me id where this dragon carving is from

I picked up this carved wood dragon from the trash ages ago and was wondering where it might be from and what the other creature the dragon is fighting might be. It looks beakier that most images of phoenixes. Searching has not brought up a good match for the style of the feathers or faces. photo of the carving

Best answer: Looks like south-east Asian, I'd guess closest to an Indonesian style, the bird-like thing being a garuda fighting a dragon or naga.
