Fixing a surface flaw on a mirror

Can these 'splotches' on the mirror be fixed, or do I need to replace? Brand new mirror, not even sure what to call this type of defect. Image here

Cleaned up the mirror, and the two 'splotches' on the left side showed up. Wondering if this type of defect can be fixed, or need to replace the glass, or have to return it. Thanks!

Response by poster: Try this. If it does not work, thanks, and I will try again later.

This may be a silly question, but have you double-triple-checked to see if there's a plastic covering over the glass? From the link that looks like trapped air (it's the same kind of thing I see when I'm putting a new screen protector on a phone, for instance).

If there's definitely no covering over the glass, I'd probably return it.

Response by poster: Not a silly question, and yes, covering has been removed.

I would return that unless you used something odd to clean it. Does the edge of the splotch look flaky, like something came off to cause it?

Response by poster: No flaking at the edges. Funny thing is, my partner found the exact same mirror at another store, and asked them to give it a quick clean, and it had similar flaws. I am now assuming it is some manufacturing defect, so will probably return it.

The link works, but the image I'm seeing is tiny enough that I can't tell what's going on in it.
