I’ll be spending Veteran’s Day weekend in Toronto visiting my undergrad son — what’s fun touristy Toronto stuff? Is the CN Tower a reasonably entertaining experience, or are the lines and so on too long? This time of year, will the islands be worth going to? Assuming that we are willing to walk any distance imaginable, what would you do for fun in Toronto?

Here are two recent asks from the last month or so, covering similar timing:

First time Toronto visit

Visiting Toronto, this time in November

We took my sister in law and her American husband, who'd never visited Toronto, up the CN Tower a couple of years ago, and they enjoyed it. It's only worth going up on a clear day, though.

I wouldn't go to the Toronto Islands in November, it'll just be cold and grey.
If your kiddo is a Harry Potter fan, you could see the Harry Potter musical.
Here's a November entertainment listing.

The best way in my experience to do the CN Tower is to do the restaurant. Your ride to and fro is included and fast, and you get to luxuriate and take in the whole city. It's a bit pricey, but less than you might think.

The ROM is fantastic.

The other links from mandolin-conspiracy seem to have the rest handled.

If you do the cn tower my advice is to look up sunset times for the day you're going and go at whatever time will allow you to see the city by day and by night.

Response by poster: I am an idiot who didn’t search for prior questions — I thought I would have remembered seeing them if they were recent. Sorry about that, but thanks for directing me to them.

I've always wanted to go to the Bata Shoe museum which is in Toronto.

Reel Asian Film Fest is happening that weekend. I'll be seeing my friend Renuka Jeyapalan's first feature, Stay the Night.

Bata Shoe Museum is indeed quite cool! I also recommend Casa Loma.

I would totally go see the Kent Monkman exhibit at the ROM.
