What are some famous moments to use in a calendar about legal work in the public interest?

I'm making a calendar for 2023 to help inspire me during my time in law school, and I'm trying to brainstorm what photos to include. Anything related to movement legal work, law in the public interest, or progressive lawyering could work. Examples that I'm considering so far are the victory of Brown v. Board, the Warren Court, and the 14th Amendment. The main complication is that I have to find photos that are available for use, either in the public domain or with a non-commercial license.

Any ideas? What events do you think represent important moments for movement lawyering?

* Founding of the ACLU by Crystal Eastman and Roger Nash Baldwin

* There are a number of sweet photos of the couple in Loving v. Virginia floating around.

* Also of Edie Windsor and Thea Spyer (of United States v. Windsor)

* There's a prison picture of Gideon (of Gideon v. Wainwright) floating around

* A picture of the cover of Unsafe at Any Speed

The Haymarket riot
The Bonus Army
The Triangle Shirtwaist Fire
The Minamata mercury poisonings

Holy shit this is a depressing list. Better stick with puppies and rainbows.

There are a lot of photos of William Kunstler, a radical lawyer who defended the Chicago Seven, the Catonsville 9, and members of the Black Panthers, the Weather Underground, and the American Indian Movement. During the 60s Civil Rights movement, he defended the Freedom Riders and traveled to segregated states to defend people who had been jailed.

And if you ever have spare time, you might want to read his memoir, My Life as a Radical Lawyer.

Erin Brokovich / Ed Masry? A note on the photos: you can look through Wikipedia and find images with an appropriate Creative Commons license (example)

Portraits of inspiring people? Michael Ratner, Pauli Murray, Martin Sostre.

Images? The July 1, 1971, front page of The New York Times upholding the publication of the Pentagon Papers. Anita Hill testifying against Clarence Thomas. Women celebrating the Roe V Wade Passage fifty years ago.

A quote from the Lewis Powell Memo.

The smiling mugs of the right wing court today: Roberts, Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch, the rapist, Coney Barrett. The dumb expressions and quotes from the recent round of unqualified judges (E.G., Chad Readler, Neomi Rao, Steven Menashi, and Cory Wilson).

And seconding the latkes's NLG green hats and the suggestions of praemunire.
