Career-related discussion prompts?

I'd like to develop some broad, career-related discussion prompts to drive engagement on our social media pages.

I work for an org that covers career-related matters for a particular industry. Our members range from blue collar to PhD researchers. To paint a picture, it would be like if the trucking industry had an association with members that included drivers, logistics engineers, fleet owners, and electric vehicle designers. My org provides career development resources, industry conferences, and government advocacy for this industry

I'd like to develop some broad, career-related discussion prompts to drive engagement on our social media pages. So far I have:

- The best career advice I’ve ever gotten was ____
- The most challenging thing about my job is ____
- Work doesn't start until _____
- Describe your job in 3 words.
- How would you describe your job to a kindergartener?

Can you help me come up with a few more? I'm open to lighthearted or fun.

I remember "what does everyone get wrong about your job" being a popular one on Twitter, also something like "what's something everyone in your field knows that would surprise someone else."

What would make you leave your current job? What would make you stay forever?

What's the most interesting benefit of your job?

What's the work story you tell at family gatherings?

Who have you met through your job that you probably wouldn't have met otherwise?

What’s something that surprised you at work recently?

Low- stakes questions where people just have to type in a word or two but are engaging can help:

Coffee, tea/chair, energy drink, or just water?

Favourite snack to find in the break room?

Early bird or night owl?

What's the best tip you've heard lately?

Just a note that in my (limited) experience, the idea that people should reveal themselves at work via icebreakers etc. can have a class component. That doesn't really matter for an engagement goal (because some people are likely to hop in) but you may want to think about how it positions your social media channels externally. I learned this at a company training where I had what I thought were some good icebreakers (nothing crazy) and my drivers' responses were polite variations on 'what the hell do you want to know that for?'

People are not going to tell you the most challenging thing about their job on LinkedIn or any other personally identifiable social media.

If you actually want to up engagement for stats reporting, do polls instead of open-ended questions. I can't start my work day without (coffee, exercise, breakfast). I would rather (more email and fewer calls, more calls and fewer emails) etc.
