Can I Have A Name With That Number?

What's the most economical reverse phone number lookup service if we only need to use it occasionally?

Nothing nefarious here, it's just that sometimes people call our business inquiring about something and we don't catch their name. We want to be able to associate the number to a person or company name in our CRM system. Sometimes people who call are hard to reach so we want to find another way to get the information. Services like Intelius and Spokeo charge a monthly subscription. We'd rather pay a little more per inquiry instead of paying a monthly subscription because it's not something we need frequently. Are there any services that charge a reasonable per-search fee and no monthly subscription?

Fast People Search is good, and free.

Sorry, no recommendations, but I tried Fast People Search.

I plugged in my cell number, which has a local NYC area code, and it reported that that number is owned by a stranger in Virginia.

I plugged in my Ooma number (former landline, definitely listed to me) and it returned the owner as being my son, with lots of supplemental information about my son and his past addresses. At least I was listed as a relative.

It's not perfect, yeah. Some of the details that pop up for me are outdated or actually relevant for family members instead of me. But it's surprisingly good in certain circumstances. Like, if you don't know someone's current info but you both had the same mailing address for several years in college.
